Lodgeport Installation Project Spotlight – Limetree Resort.

Lodgeport is proud to announce the successful completion of a major WiFi upgrade at the Limetree Resort in Sarasota, Florida. The project involved upgrading the resort’s wireless network from WiFi 5 to WiFi 6, significantly enhancing connectivity and throughput across the entire property.

As part of this upgrade, the number of access points was increased from 30 to 45, ensuring comprehensive coverage and addressing previous areas with inadequate signal strength. The deployment of advanced Ruckus Wireless infrastructure, known for its reliability and high performance, has optimized the network's coverage and capacity, providing guests with a seamless and fast internet experience.

The project was not without its challenges. The first major hurdle involved running wires in the under-building crawlspace, where concurrent concrete repair work was being performed by another contractor. The entire under building crawlspace area was on building jacks as the old, decaying concrete was removed and replaced. This required careful coordination between teams and companies working in the confined space under the bullding.

The second challenge arose when Hurricane Debbie unexpectedly strengthened from a tropical storm into a hurricane, bringing 11 inches of rain to Lido Beach over 30 hours. The storm led to significant flooding in the under-building crawlspace, with water levels reaching 3 feet.

The teams worked on other above grade items while recovery crews pumped out the floodwater over 3-days. Despite these adverse conditions, the project was completed on schedule and within budget, showcasing the resilience and dedication of the Lodgeport installation team.

The new WiFi 6 network is expected to significantly improve guest satisfaction by delivering faster speeds, better connectivity, and reliable coverage throughout the property. The successful completion of this upgrade underscores Lodgeport’s commitment to overcoming unforeseen challenges and delivering exceptional results for its clients.
